Library and information Week 2021

Theme: "GLAM/R: Adapting to Changes and Expanding Access"

As part of the Association’s mandate and innate purpose to unite all persons and institutions engaged or interested in library and information work in Jamaica; this year, we celebrate Library and Information Week under the theme “GLAM/R: Adapting to Changes and Expanding Access”. Of course, GLAM/R is an acronym for Galleries, Libraries, Archives, Museums and Records Centres. Over the years many of these institutions have adapted to the changing environment in which we live and have expanded their services in order to meet the ever evolving needs of society. In a much broader sense, and throughout Jamaica, the work of GLAM/R or GLAMs encompasses the responsibility of our institutions in acquiring, disseminating and preserving knowledge for all stakeholders, beneficiaries and the public at large.

The Library and Information Association of Jamaica (LIAJA) will celebrate Library and Information Week, from October 31- November 6, 2021 by considering the significance and value of GLAM/R to the development of institution, community and nation building.
